Advocacy

Over the last two years, I have successfully advocated for:
  • racism to be addressed in policy at HPEDSB
  • menstrual products to be available at no cost in accessible, gender-neutral bathrooms within HPEDSB
  • the celebration of Black History Month, Pride Month and Indigenous History Month in every HPEDSB school
  • an update to the Prince Edward County taxi bylaw to include language that protects minors, those with disabilities and other vulnerable community members. She is now advocating for similar changes to be made in Belleville and Quinte West.
  • changes to committee bylaws to encourage youth appointments to municipal advisory committees.

Currently advocating effort:
  • menstrual products in accessible bathrooms in all Prince Edward County public bathrooms
  • OPP-Social Worker led support collaboration for community wellness checks
  • reinstatement of the Community Advisory Boards for provincially run corrections facilities that was dismantled in June 2021
